Top 5 Tips for Your Big Day

At Geek Chic, we’re committed to helping you make the most out of your big day.

With 5 handy tips, we’ll help you elevate your Wedding to the event of the year, and give your guests serious Wedding Envy!

Culinary Creativity

Food can be a lovely way to add another splash of entertainment to your big day. Theatrical spectacles like a hog roast or live cooking add a vibrance to your culinary experience, especially for those late We’ve even seen weddings with a street-food market outside the venue, with different pop-up stalls serving foods from around the world.

Save the Feet!

At Geek Chic we love to get people up dancing, but those heels can get very tiring after a long day. Why not buy some pairs of cheap flip-flops or flat shoes and pop them in a basket by the dancefloor, so the dancing never needs to stop! Also, invest in a pair of your own comfy shoes (or bring your favourites from home) for the evening reception so you can join in the fun after the first dance too- We’ve even seen shoes with funky flashing lights on them!

Capture the Moment

A photo booth or photo product is always a great added entertainment aspect for your day. Our Photo Pod is an amazing, and eco-friendly modern photobooth product, allowing your guests to take completely unlimited photos and share them directly to their mobile devices, and a keepsake online gallery to be treasured and shared!

Take it Outdoors

One of our favourite ever weddings was in a huge Teepee in a rural area. A festival or bohemian inspired wedding can be a great way to provide something different for both you and your guests, but there is a lot to think about when considering an outdoor venue.

Geek Chic have dedicated event planners who can help to realise these kinds of events, thinking about things like power, suppliers, food, lighting and more, whilst using your creative input to motivate the day.

An outdoor wedding within the grounds of an established venue often offers the best of both worlds, with home comforts, catering kitchens and often hotel rooms on-site, but all of the wonderful benefits of an outdoor experience.

Focus on Yourselves

A wedding day can be very tiring, so make sure to build in moments of alone time during the big day, perhaps a photoshoot for just the happy couple, or a ‘freshen up’ before the wedding breakfast. By giving yourselves time to reflect and prepare, you can enjoy your day more. A reminder that it’s ok to feel stressed or anxious on your wedding day, there’s a lot going on, and there’s no problem with taking a moment away from the hustle and bustle to relax and decompress.
