At Geek Chic, we're dedicated to innovating what we do to new levels, and we think we've found our best idea yet - a beautiful, high tech yet eco-friendly alternative to the traditional photo booth!

It's important to note that lots of companies are doing more to carbon-offset, or make their events more eco-friendly. We certainly aren't perfect, but believe our approach to photo products is a fresh new direction in the world of photo experiences.

How does it work?

Our Photo Pod uses all of the technology elements which would typically be within a standard Photobooth, but in a sleek and compact 'Pylon', format with a choice of backdrops and collection of props and signs to choose from.

Take a number of photos, and choose how they are laid out on the finished image, then instantly share to your mobile device via a QR code, or access the memories later with our online gallery.

It really is that simple, and because of our high-tech approach, almost 4 times faster than a typical photo booth, allowing more photos to be taken, more fun to be had, and the ability for the pod to be used in new and exciting ways at events.

This makes us very adaptable, able to be placed in a variety of locations and formats, and much more flexible than your typical photo booth. Think of our Pod, or pylon, as a basis, not the whole product. With our technology packages, our experiences can extend far beyond the pod, with cameras placed high up, on gantries overhead, or in creative ways to make truly unique experiences, as well as the pod being a stand-alone unit in itself. This makes it ideal for corporate and marketing events, which we do a lot of!

What makes it eco?

With an entirely digital approach to photo sharing, our photo pod reduces the waste generated in an old-fashioned printing photo booth, and allows exactly the same instant gratification you get from receiving your photos, without the heat, environmental impact or stacks of discarded paper commonplace in most Photobooths.

Once you've taken your photos, our system instantly, and cleverly uploads them, creates a QR code, airdrop token and email, so you an use any of these options to share them directly to your own device. It also allows for sharing for up to 60 days after the event, so there's no opportunity to lose that perfect photo, or spill your drink over it!

We utlise LED lighting throughout our photo experiences, which gives the same effect (we believe better) as the common fluorescent, halogen or tungsten bulbs used in traditional photo booths, without the heat, electricity draw or constant need for replacement lamps- we've calculated our photo pod costs less than 20p to run on full power for a 2-3 hour event. We're also able to run some of our more compact photo products on battery power for up to an hour and a half long activation - which adds an even more adaptable appeal.

What's more - our pod, backdrop and props are so compact that we can reduce our emissions even further - by using rail travel for events where vehicles would be unnecessary, and too high-emission to warrant. This is an industry-first approach to reducing our footprint, and we believe a future move forward in how we deliver our events.
