GSA Graduation Ball

Guildford School of Acting, a long-term friend of both Geek Chic and it's artists, asked for a high-impact graduation event, celebrating the successes of their students, and to mark the easing of covid restrictions.

With a relatively short turn-around, Geek Chic delivered a showstopping party, with music from in-house DJ Sam and band Bloomfield Avenue, a production package including staging, lighting, and custom CNC-designed letters, finished in silver glitter by Geek Chic's affiliated set designers, and a video highlight reel for the ultimate celebration.

'Allowing Geek Chic to plan and deliver the whole event took the pressure out of our hands, and meant that we could focus on the finer details of the night, safe in the knowledge that Geek Chic's event team would deliver all of the key elements of our party from one source', explains Calley, GSA's Student Society Treasurer. 'Knowing we had one key point of contact with Geek Chic who had a knowledge of the whole event, and would be there on the night to iron out any creases and make sure everything was perfect was a huge relief, and meant that us organisers could enjoy ourselves much more'.

'As an event, this Graduation Ball had all the hallmarks of a perfect night, but with the possibility of challenges, from tight access, thin time margins and the added pressure of those listening to music being a mix of musicians, performers and singers themselves!' adds Event Co-ordinator Rohan, who also managed the event on the night.

'By adding extra staff, creating an event plan and ensuring that we went into the event with a clear vision of the client's needs, gained from extensive pre-event meetings, we were able to deliver a highly successful, yet extremely personalised and dynamic event'.

By booking a full production package with Geek Chic, GSA ensured an onsite Event Co-ordinator was present, which allowed clear and effective communication channels between guests, venue staff and organisers. As our event co-ordination services are all inclusive, we were also able to assist with duties such as transport for guests if needed, communicating dietary requirements and assisting for an impromptu speech on the night, all of which made for a better overall experience for our clients and their guests.
